Nudging is a promising approach, in terms of influencing people to make advisable choices range domains, including cybersecurity. However, the processes underlying concept and nudge’s effectiveness different contexts, long term, are still poorly understood. Our research thus first reviewed nudge differentiated it from other interventions before applying cybersecurity area. We then carried out an empirical study assess three nudge-related on four types cybersecurity-specific decisions. demonstrated that combination simple information provision, termed “hybrid nudge,” was at least as, some decision contexts even more effective encouraging secure as its own. This indicates inclusion when deploying nudge, thereby increasing intervention’s transparency, does not necessarily diminish effectiveness. A follow-up explored educational long-term impact our tested encourage choices. The results indicate initial nudges, all kinds, did endure. conclude by discussing findings their implications for practice.
